So you didn't go over and ask to share a hunk of meat with you I take it?

I tried getting closer and a Park Ranger gave me the hook, pulled me back and asked if I was crazy. That's how I ended up with the RF200-800mm F6.3-9 IS USM + EXTENDER RF 1.4x fully extended for the shot.

Great shot.  Thanks for sharing.  I remember stepping in front of that big gator and taking a shot, but it was pretty used to people (someone had done the same before I did it) so likely not dangerous like your big bear.  That said, I was very happy to get the shot and move to the side.   Better to live and shoot again!

Beautiful shot Marc.  I'm glad the Ranger pulled you back. We've all seen those Yellowstone videos where people think they're going to take a picture with a buffalo or elk.

With all the animals I made sure to keep my distance but with this Grizzly we had to be way off the subject. Protecting his meal would have kept me pretty far off but as always......just wanted to get a little bit closer ;o)

Of course we love this shot! The composition of the antler rack and the bear's stance is really powerful.  Thanks for sharing.
