One of the debates in my family (my daughters) is the timed exposures of waterfalls. I am being brought to feel that those timed settings are overdone and that what I refer to as "frozen falls" gives one more a sense of how wet and wonderful the water may be. I submit these examples for consideration. (I will of course try all settings.)

Seems like it would be an advantage to take photos with different settings to get the desired results. That is, yours and your daughters?

personally, I like a longer exposure in this setting...you can get a fantasy/LOTR feel with it.
i think the shorter exposure is better for larger, more wide-open falls
