Falls Philosophy

One of the debates in my family (my daughters) is the timed exposures of waterfalls.  I am being brought to feel that those timed settings are overdone and that what I refer to as "frozen falls" gives one more a sense of how wet and wonderful the water may be.  I submit these examples for consideration.  (I will of course try all settings.) Shenandoah24-8-min.jpgShenandoah24-15-min.jpgShenandoah24-11-min.jpgIMG_5826-min.jpgBulgaria-12-min.jpg

Seems like it would be an advantage to take photos with different settings to get the desired results. That is, yours and your daughters?

personally, I like a longer exposure in this setting...you can get a fantasy/LOTR feel with it.

i think the shorter exposure is better for larger, more wide-open falls
