Solomon Ibn Gabirol or Solomon Ben Judah (Shlomo ben Yehuda ibn Gabirol).  Born in Malaga 1021 or 1022 and died in Valencia/Toledo 1070.  He was a revered 11th-century Jewish Poet and Philosopher in the Neo-Platonic in Al-Andalus.  He published over 100 poems as well as Biblical exegesis, philosophy, ethics and satire.  (that is what I love about travel, I learn about history that I didn't know)...
