The entrance of The Palace of the Emperor Charles V, built 1527-1550

The palatine city of Alhambra has many palaces, consisting of six major ones: the Mexuar, Comares, Leones, Generalife, the palace of Emperor Carlos V (Charles V) and the Alcazaba the oldest.  Built in different periods, which are configured into a single court space.  After "La Reconquista", various rooms were built and integrated onto the palaces for habitation by the Catholic Monarchs.  Then in 1527 the Emperor Charles V, the grandson of Queen Isabela I and King Ferdinand II, had his palace-built, worthy of the Emperor of the Roman Empire, expressing the triumph of Christianity over Islam.
