EOS R6 mark II and RF 100-400mm

This kind of goes with the legacy lens posts on the the mirrorless cameras, with a twist 🙂

My wife, Sandy, took these with the R6 mark II and the inexpensive RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM lens. To me, the remarkable thing I found while processing the lizard images was how high she was able to push the ISO to get a shutter and aperture that worked, for her vision of the shot, in the very low light she had to work with, which was just a window and the light from an overcast sky.

I've used this lens on the R5 and it is stellar. But I like L glass, so I use the RF 100-500mm L.

1/400th, f/32, ISO 10,000 - 400mm. The lighting changed and she lost track of ISO, but notice how sharp this lens is at f/32. Pretty rare in my experience, same with  the following..

1/320th, f/45, ISO 10,000 - 400mm. Another one left at 10,000 on accident, but still sharp at f/45.

Hi Newton:

These are indeed stellar images and do credit to both the gear and the photographer!   I have seen and heard great things about the Rf 100-400 STM lens for the quality of its images and very reasonable price.  I always say that budget is a founding factor in choosing camera equipment and in that respect the RF100-400 certainly is a quality, budget-friendly lens.

The other star is the R6MkII, which I have very recently purchased but not actually taken a photograph with!  I am looking forward to doing so.

FloridaDrafter, I second Trevor's motion. My favorite is the camel with the reflection. It was impressive with the different subjects and colors.

Observation: Now that I have become more aware of photographic moments, I have another that impressed me. In the early part of the Movie, Last of the Mohicans, I marvel at the timing of the carriage crossing the bridge with the reflection in the stream.
