imageFORMULA R30 "CaptureOnTouch" and drivers missing from support page

When I visit this page: https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/imageformula-r30-office-document-scanner
to get drivers for my scanner that stopped working after upgrading to windows 11 nothing is listed there except plugins.

 

I need to get this working and I figured I would trying reinstalling CaptureOnTouch. I deleted the software so that I could reinstall it and now it is no where to be found. Does anyone have any idea where I can get this software?

Hi,

You will want to download and install the CaptureOnTouch Lite updater program. Please visit the following website:

IMPORTANT: Please use Microsoft Edge or the most recent version of Chrome to visit the download page. We do not recommend using the Firefox browser to download our updater.

When the page opens, please click on the symbol for “Software and Drivers” to the right of the picture of the scanner. Then, make sure that the correct Operating System and Version is listed under the Downloads section. Next, please scroll down to the bottom of the list and click on the LOAD MORE button.

After clicking on Load More, please do the following:

  1. Make sure that the scanner is turned on and connected to the computer that is being used for the update.
  2. Click on the DOWNLOAD button to the right of the CaptureOnTouch Lite Updater (last option).
  3. When the download is complete, go to your downloads, open the program named R30_CaptureOnTouchLiteVer.3.1.124.417forWindows, and let that program run (execute).
  4. Click YES to the license agreement.
  5. Read the message that pops up next and click OK to perform the update.
  6. When told that the update is successfully completed, click OK to close the updater.
  7. Press the Power button on the scanner and wait for it to finish powering down.
  8. When the scanner has finished turning off, press the Power button to turn it back on.

When the scanner turns back on, please check if the CaptureOnTouch Lite program is available. If that program does not load on your computer screen (or if you are still getting the same error when trying to scan), please try restarting your computer (shutting it down and restarting it) while the scanner is turned on and connected.

Same problem, but can't find a solution.  Have updated CaptureOnTouch Lite (says it's up to date when installing) and reset registry settings all per your instructions.  Is there no way to uninstall and reinstall the drivers?  That would seem to be the best solution.  Thank you.

I apologize, but there is no driver for this scanner. The software “called CaptureOnTouch Lite” is built into the scanner and does not require a driver to use it. When you use a USB cable to connect the scanner to the computer, the CaptureOnTouch Lite software is uploaded.

Since the update did not resolve the issue, it is recommended that you call our support team at 1-800-423-2366 Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm ET, excluding holidays.
