imageFORMULA DR-M140: Command Line Arguments to run scan for job no.2

Kubix5220
Apprentice

Software: CaptureOnTouch V4 Pro

Scanner: Canon Dr-M140

Looking for a solution to run a scan on a document in the feed tray (documents to be scanned into PDF’s) with a job setting (specifically job no. 2) with CaptureOnTouch software on a Non-Admin user account running Windows.

ADDITIONAL INFO: This job (no. 2) with CaptureOnTouch detects the barcode on each page, separates each page as a single page PDF, and then saves them in a directory that I later use VBA in Excel to get the file names of that directory and enter into a text box, and delete the files in the directory.

if anyone knows the command line arguments to run this job or how to start the scan with those settings (using VBA Excel) or even how to run Job no.2 by opening the file for job 2 which activates the scanning it would be amazing.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Hi.

Thanks for your post. I see that you need to know how to set up job number 2 on your imageFORMULA DR-M140.

We do not have a way of using the command line to set up the jobs on your scanner. You can do that using the CaptureOnTouch software. When you have that program open, please locate the Scanning Shortcuts. If you do not see them, you can click on the chevron that points right in the top right corner of the window.

Once you are looking at the shortcuts, you will see the job number assignment in one of the icon’s corners. To make changes to that shortcut, you can click on the edit symbol (pencil) in the bottom right corner to open the settings window. In that window, you can change both the input and output settings. You can also change or assign the job number.

You mentioned that you would like the file opened after scanning. You can go to the Output Settings tab in the Settings window, change the Output Method Selection to “Send to application,” and then choose the application you want to use to open the file.

If you need help with this, or if you need other assistance with the CaptureOnTouch program, I recommend that you call us. It would be the quickest way of getting you the information you need. You may call our special toll-free number by dialing 1-800-423-2366, Monday - Friday 9:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. ET (excluding holidays).

I hope this information helps. Thanks again.

I am not trying to setup a job with command line. I’m simply trying to run a scan with Job2 as an argument. I was just giving the details of what job2 already does.

Something like CaptureOnTouch.exe /scan /job=2

it says in documentation that there are command line arguments for CaptureOnTouch V4 Pro which we have.

Any solution to this?
