New software update for CaptureOnTouch hasn't helped with my DR-C125

Hello, I am receiving an error message "The device could not be locked. Check that another application isn't using the device. (-4630)" After discovering the recent software update and dowloading it the error messages multiplied. With the old software I would get one of these messages. The new software continually gives the error message and I have to go into task manager to "end task" just to close it. What gives? Has anyone else experienced this since the recent  Windows update?

The CaptureOnTouch software update might not be fully compatible with the latest Windows update, or another application might be interfering with the scanner’s lock mechanism. Ensure no other scanning software (like Windows Fax & Scan, Adobe, or third-party scanning apps) runs in the background. You can check this in the Task Manager.
