Years ago I started scanning film negatives. I was interrupted, and only recently got back to the task.
The machine said it needed software updating. I did so, and in the process saw something that I took to mean that the scanner was not compatible with the two latest Apple OS.
Does that mean I have to junk the scanner? Or is there a way to still use it with the latest OS?

This might work: CanoScan 9000F Mark II macOS Sonoma and Sequoia co... - Canon Community
If not, you could look into VueScan by Hamrick Software.
