CanoScan LiDE 400 Software setup halted by error message

Hello, 

 

I was wondering if I could get some help. I have recently bought the CanonScan Lide 400. I have tried to download the software from Canon ij.manual.canon. However the download is telling me that the software is being used by other user and wont let me open the download. My laptop is using the MacOS Sonoma.

Hi roflaherty24,

To use your CanoScan LiDE 400 with your Mac, once you connect the USB cable, the drivers will be installed automatically and your scanner will be ready for use.

If you wish to use the IJ Scan Utility Lite, it is available for download from the Support Page of your LiDE 400.

Hello, 

Thank you for your reply. When I connected my scanner to my mac nothing downloaded, so I tried adding scanner to my printers and scanners on my system settings but the scanner is not responding to me trying to scan work that way however the laptop is picking it up so I think the scanner is working. 

However, I have tried to download the drivers again through the first link and its telling me the same thing before, a error message saying the programme is in use.
