CanoScan LiDE 300 macOS Monterey compatibility

Is my CanoScan LiDE 300 compatible with Mac OS Monterrey? when I connect to with my USB cable scanner turns on, but when I start up the Utility Lite I get a message it cannot find my scanner. Any ideas?

The CanoScan LIDE 300 is compatible with MacOS up to High Sierra presently.

So, won't work with my Monterey OS. DARN - this means I need to update the scanner? 😞
