Cannot Load Driver - Imageforumula RS40

I just purchased the Canon Photo Imageforumula RS40 scanner and I have installed everything on my Mac which is running the latest OS. Every time I try to scan, I get the "Error Cannot Load Drivers". I have downloaded every driver available on the site. I am at a loss and am about to send the scanner back. Help? Pretty please?

For this type of issue, please call our support Group at 1-800-423-2366, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST, Monday - Friday (excluding holidays).  

1.       Call our Imaging Solutions Group
2.       Wait until you are asked to select a product. When you get that prompt, press 1.
3.       When you get the second prompt, press 2.

Following these steps will get you to the appropriate technician faster.
