CANOSCAN LIDE 400 not scanning at anything above 600dpi

Hello! I have been attempting to scan at 2400, and 4800dpi with my CanoScan LIDE 400, but it always cuts at the end and doesn't actually finish the scan, and nothing shows up in the designated folder. I have a Macbook Air from 2020 with an M1 chip. Tried scanning photos at various sizes, selecting only small portions of the photos, but it doesn't scan past 1200 sadly.

Has anyone encountered this? Would love to scan at least at 2400dpi if possible. Any guidance is appreciated.  Thank you.

This is my error message: "The scanned image cannot be saved because the selected format is not supported. Select JPEG or TIFF format in the driver, and then scan again."

--But I do have those selected and it still doesn't work.

Hi mikemike120,

What version of the macOS is installed on your computer?  To determine this, please click the Apple in the upper left corner and then About This Mac.

What application are you using to perform the scan;  Image Capture?  IJ Scan Utility Lite?

If you are using the IJ Scan Utility Lite, is "Enable large image scans" enabled?

I look forward to your reply.
