I am using a GX7021 to scan.
It has worked well for me for 18 months … until the last couple of days (i am guessing a recent firmware update may be at fault, though i thought it was working well for at least a few days after the firmware update … )
It used to be that a "Custom" scan for a multi-page scan to PDF would take a few seconds a page, and scanning several pages would be done quickly (using the IJ Scan Lite utility on my mac).
Now, the most recent issue is:
1. press "Custom" in IJ Scan Lite
2. see "Searching for scanners…" then simultaneously, will see the usual scanning in progress dialogs on both the mac and operation panel
3. after a while, the scanner just goes back to the home screen on the operation panel, and IJ Scan Lite just silently fails.
this is maddening, because the scanner has worked well and quickly for a long time, and i've done thousands of scans with it.
i've investigated the wifi.
i've tried hooking it up with Wifi direct rather than a router.
i've tried looking for another firmware update, but the scanner says it's up to date.
i've tried using the "Driver" button in IJ Scan Utility Lite, and it will preview the scan for me, but the "Scanning…" dialog at the bottom that looks like it is supposed to be a dialog box really doesn't advance.
glad to try any and all suggestions to get this back to normal.
