canon vixia hr 40 recording flickering

I am trying to record with my Canon Vixia HR 40 and when I playback from the camcorder it is flickering. Is there a setting to fix this?

Are you saying that it is flickering on an external monitor, on the camera's display, or both?

Thank you for checking back. I have been doing some troubleshooting since posting and it appears to be a software problem on my computer. The playback when tested again on the camcorder directly is working. Thank you!
