XA50 doesn’t work with newer HDMI cables

I’m connecting my XA50 to an external monitor. Most of the HDMI cables or adapters I have tried don’t work. It seems to me that newer high speed or 4K cables don’t work and only older (less robust) cables or adapters are working. Any thoughts on cables or camcorder settings that might help?

Are you perhaps using an active HDMI cable? Try using a passive HDMI instead.  Passive cables also support the latest specifications.

The cables I have tried were not labeled as active but it could be the chip that supports 4K is causing the same issue. I will try some tests. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have the same problem ?  I only need a very short lead for this video camera. Can you tell me what lead you have found that operates the Newer monitor please.

These cables have worked well for me when going just from a standard to a mini.

When I have needed an adapter because my monitor also takes a mini this adapter is sturdy and also works every time.
