I have been using an XA40 in Manual mode for two years with no issue. A partner used the preset for snow this weekend and when i switched it off today and back to Manual, the iris is too dark. It's about 3-4 stops darker than normal. The Iris is at 1.8, the Shutter Speed is 1/48, Gain is a 0dB,. I need to add 13db of gain in order to bring it to the level of a matching camera.

Greetings,
I'll need to pull the manual. Look at the automatic Gain Limit on page 53.

Look for funny White Balance adjustments.
Gain function on page 47.
Hard to say. You may want to reset the camera. This is something I would do if I received a camera that was used by another person.
