XA40: any aftermarket components to protect the XLR inputs + audio control panel

Lest that wasn't clear, specifically these two surfaces:
I was surprised to see that Canon hadn't included any XLR dust protectors (or something similar) -- or something like a plastic sheath to protect the controls when shooting in drizzly conditions.
My question - to those who have owned this camera for a while - is how careful does one have to be in protecting both the XLR ports and the panel from the elements?
Are there any aftermarket accessories that will fit nicely onto these? Do the XLR ports require protection from the elements at all? The rest of the ports on the camera are protected by various dust covers. So it struck me as usual that these ports which are so important for professional audio would be left exposed (so to speak).

I haven't seen any covers except for those accessories that have one.
