I currently own a XA50 and am looking to for an upgrade. Would XF400 be a good one, although it was released a few years prior to the XA50? Also, a Wikipedia article stated that the XF400 was similar to a GX10 just with the top handle. Is that the only difference between the two models (XF400 and GX10)?

It appears you'd need to step up to either the XF605 or XF705 camcorders in order to get 4K 60.
Or, start looking into Canon's Cinema line; though that will be at an even higher cost than the two above cams, especially after factoring in lenses.

Greetings,
To answer your question, basically yes. These are comparable models functionally and spec wise. You cannot get 4k 60 at a $2,000.00 price point currently. Since the XF400 is discontinued you might be buying old stock or need to source used. This might be a good reason to consider a newer model.
