Mic input configuration on the Canon HF-R40

What is the configuration for the input plug on my Canon R40.  I am going to be using a small mixer with mic output on the camera.  I am thinking that the jack on the camera is a stereo input and I will making my plug from mono so I plan on jumpering the tip and ring on the plug.

Microphones should meet the following specifications: 3.5 mm stereo minijack -64 dBV (with 600 Ohm microphone)/5 kilohms or more.

The configuration of the mic terminal is not published information. I regret any difficulty this causes.
