Canon XA11 wirless mic receiver questions

Anyone know what settings I need to use in order for the Canon XA11 to recognize the receiver for wireless microphone transmitters? I tested the transmitters/receivers with other cameras, and they worked right after I plugged them in so I am not sure why the XA11 doesn't recognize them too.

Is the XA11 able to record audio when wireless mic isn't connected?

I have been using a Rode NTG1 that has worked without any issues. The wireless transmitter/receiver set I am trying to use is the MC9F Wireless Microphone System
