Canon CR-N500 Image Quality

davidjm77

We are using 3 CR-N500 cameras with NDI\HX and would love a more thorough understanding of some settings. Under the IP Streaming Video section there are the following. These are the settings with my current values. My main question is can I get more quality by pushing up the bit rate or the I Frame? We are using 4k@30 and the images seem very soft. Visibly they are only slightly better than 1080. Is this just a limitation on the NDI\HX? I am considering running HDMI cables to see a comparison of the image.

  • Bit Rate Control - VBR
  • Target Bit Rate (Mbps) 1-80 - 40
  • I Frame Interval (sec.) - 1

I ended up running HDMI cables to make sure I was getting the best quality.
