I just applied the update, and though I haven't tested extensively yet, so far it seems good.
First, I saved the camera settings (with "Transfer Menu / CP") to an SD card. Then, applied the update as per the instructions. Then, re-loaded the settings. It looks good, my button assignments, My Menu, and custom picture profile all seem to be back.
Now to test all the new stuff...
