C400 loose sdi connection

So I noticed that when connected to the SDI port (not the monitor SDI) my cable is very loose and any bump or even shake of the camera the connection is temporarily lost. When I tested the monitor sdi port the connection is very tight and I don’t have this issue. And when I look closely the shape of the port is slightly different.
do I need a different type of cable for the SDI port?

This is the sdi I’m using https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1457578-REG/elvid_bnc_020_rg179_slim_sdi_cable_2.html

and attached is a picture of the two port types.
monitor and sdi. The bottom one is the loose one.

Greetings ,

I would try a different brand cable.  If you still have the same problem, the best thing to do is contact Canon support.

I’ve ordered a new cable but can you see the difference between the two sdi ports? The cable I’m using is the same one we use on all our cameras.

Greetings,

I see the port angle appears different.  We can only comment on the image.  It doesn't change my suggestion.  If the connector is loose in any way, the camera should go to Canon for inspection and repair.  It will either be deemed a manufacturing defect, or damage due to use.  I assume you have a CarePak as it makes the problem nothing more than an inconvenience.

I’m still in the research phase. There isn’t a difference in angle but the actual shape of the port is slightly different which leads me to believe there may be a difference in the type of cable needed. I know one of them is a 12g and one is a 3g. But that’s a 12g cord and I’m pretty sure that’s the 12g port.
it’s only going to canon if I am sure there is a problem.
