Are there any Canon video cameras which will give a video output at 50p UHD in 10-bits, not 8-bits?

Greetings,

Best thing to do is contact the Canon sales team.

1-800-385-2155.  They can give you those results and side-by-side comparisons quickly.

Are you shooting in 50p for PAL?  I know the R5 C and R6 MarkII will both shoot 50p in 10-bit.  I'm sure there are others so contact sales for a definitive answer.

Thank you

It's difficult to answer your question because it's very vague.  "give a video output" could mean many things.

Do you mean recording video files in 10-bit?  Then yes, many Canon cameras can do this.  For example, looking at cameras I own, both the R5C and the C80 do this.  In fact, in RAW, you get 12-bit.

Do you mean an HDMI or SDI output?  Then yes.  At least:

  • The R5C manual says that it will output UHD YCC 422 10-bit over HDMI, in 50p.  User Guide Video, page 149.
  • The C80 manual likewise says that it will output UHD YCC 422 10-bit over both HDMI and SDI, in 50p.  Manual page 149.
