Hi there,
I just bought the R5C and I am fairly dissapointed by the fact that the AF of my two TAMRON lenses (SP 35 1.4 and SP 70-200 G2) does not work in video mode. In photo mode everything is perfect but in video mode...no chance. The problem is broadly discussed at reddit, DPReview a.s.o.
Seems to be fixable by Canon cause these lenses DO work on a C70.
CANON, please fix this as soon as possible!

Greetings,
None I am aware of. I'm itching for another firmware update myself. 1.0.2.1 was released the first week of Oct. 2022. We've seen updates for the R3, R5, R6, R6 MKII and the C70. At 4months, I am hoping for another R5 C update. I suspect we might get something this month since the EL-5 is scheduled to release next month. This is just wishful thinking on my part at the moment.

Greetings,
I can confirm this to be true. Another user here (who I met at the R5 C release) has the C300MkII and R5 C. His Tamron lens works on his C300MkII, but does not work in video mode on his R5 C. He has the 24-70 f2.8 G2.
I know he tested with FW 1.0.1.1 and 1.0.2.1. We haven't spoken for a while and I don't know if he is using his R5 C with 1.0.3.1 (tested).
I know this might not help, but I can confirm that the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 Art does work in both photo and video modes on the R5 C in FW's 1.0.1.1, 1.0.2.1 and 1.0.3.1. I own this lens and it does work. In photo mode its perfect, in video mode it is 95% solid. Focus acquisition and tracking is nearly perfect, but I did notice it was not quite as fast as usual. However once locked on it works well.
Tamron isn't great about putting out updates. If you have a Tap In console, ensure you are running v2 of the lens FW. This FW is not R5 C specific (the R5 doesn't have a Cinema OS), but it wouldn't hurt to try it.
