lines in prints - Canon Pro9000 markII

Hillel
Contributor

can anyone give me some idea about this:

I'm getting lines across the my prints, particularly when the background is blue. Otherwise, pretty good results. Have done cleaning and deep cleaning. Print test results always good, showing no lines.

I have the intensity set up to +14 which sometimes helps. If I don't the lines are really  worse.

Hi Hillel,

What kind of paper are you using?

What program are you using to print your image?

Hi Patrick,

thanks for the response.

What kind of paper are you using? I'm printing on handmade paper (from Nepal) and have been doing it for more than 10 years. It's quite thick, compared to normal paper, 35-40 gsm is how they measure the wight.  That said, even when I print out on normal white paper, the lines will come out after a few copies.

What program are you using to print your image?

I create books and prints, so I need to combine images and words. I find Illustrator (CS6) best for my work, so I print out .ai files.

PS. I use OEM Canon ink. I've cleaned regularly and also cleaned the printhead
