imagePROGRAF PRO-1100 error 140E

Vandy2013
Apprentice

I just opened my new Pro-1100 , installed the ink and then the print driver.  Receiving error 140E.  Tried unplugging and restarting a few times and still receiving this error.  Again. This is brand new out of box!  Anyone else have this happen and have a fix ? Canon is closed until Monday so I can’t get support.

What computer are you using? Please mention the operating system as well (e.g. macOS 26, Windows 11, etc.)

Also, are you connecting wirelessly or with a cable?

I can’t get that far.  I installed the ink.  Then the print head and received this error. I can’t get any further.  The error is on the screen, nothing happens when I hit home or back.

Unfortunately, that error is very vague. Documented on page 489 in the User Manual

Cause

Printer error has occurred.

What to Do

Turn the printer off and turn it back on.

If this does not solve the problem, contact your nearest Canon service center to request a repair.

One other question: Did you purchase from Canon or an authorized Canon reseller? If support doesn't pan out, perhaps look at exchanging it.

I purchased direct from Canon. So disappointed!!!

I need to apologize for the confusion.  I used the wrong word in my original post.  I said print driver and I meant print head.
