Pixma Pro 100 Colors Are Wrong

Whenever I print on my pixma pro, the colors turn out dull and/or slightly off. I have a Mac and calibrated my monitor, turned off printer management and still nothing. I'm using Adobe CS5 to print artwork that I illustrated on procreate. Please help, thank you! Can share more information if need be.

Try adjusting color settings in the Printer driver utilizing a pattern print:

Can you provide a little more information:

1. what paper are you using?

2. what are your monitor calibration settings?

I used Epson Premium Presentation Paper Matte and Canon Photo Paper Pro Luster LU 101. The colors were more vibrant on the photo paper but I'm not sure if I like the shininess on it. Regardless the colors are still off on both types of paper.

How do I find my calibration settings?

Are you using the correct printer profiles with these papers? That is necessary if you wish to achieve optimal results.

When you calibrated your monitor you had to input settings into the software.

I recommend you try these settings. I use these and get good prints from my Pro-100.

Brightness 80 cd/m^2

White Point 5800K

Gamma 2.2

Contrast 287:1

Since you are using Epson paper you won’t be getting best output unless you get a custom ICC profile. Using the Canon matte paper might be close but not optimum.

Download the test image from this site

Open the image in your photo software and print it. Do not make any adjustments regardless of how the image looks on screen.

I suggest using Canon paper for this test.

Evaluate the image using the guidance in the website.

This bypasses any effect of your computer.

If there are issues its a printer problem that needs to be resolved before there can be any assurance of getting good prints.

Thank you for your help. When I calibrated my monitor, I went through Mac's assistant so I didn't necessarily choose the settings myself. Where would I be able to input those settings?

Oh. The settings I gave were for calibrating with a device like i1 Pro.

How did the test image look when you printed it?
