Our Pro9000 MKII is using color ink, specifically cyan and magenta, when we print only in grayscale. All cartridges were full a couple of months ago. Not so much as one color page was printed, only grayscale. We use color for photos only, and we haven't been printing any photos of late. It's only my wife and I, and I pretty much do all the photo printing. I haven't printed anything at all in months.
Tonight my wife printed a recipe, in grayscale, and the job was interrupted because the printer is out of magenta. And it's just about out of cyan. What is going on?
Color cartridges for this printer are pricey. If I was printing color, okay, I used up the cartidges. But no color pages have been printed. Is there some setting we should change to prevent color inks from being used unnecessarily?
Thank you.
