PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II won't talk to computer, solid yellow light

Cohen
Apprentice

I have an older Prixma Pro9000 mkII printer.  It used to print beautifully but hasn't been used in several years.  I wanted to start printing some of my work again but I cannot get the computer to talk to the printer.  I also have a solid yellow light (not blinking) and cannot find any information on what that means.  Thanks.

Hi,

I recommend performing a reset of the printer. While the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the printer.

Then, while the power is off, press the power button 5 times. After 60 seconds plug the power cord back in and power on the printer.

If the issue persists, the printer has experienced a hardware failure and would need to be replaced. Since the printer is out of warranty, you would qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This program allows you the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price. Free ground shipping is included with your purchase.

You can take advantage of this offer by calling the Canon Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Mon-Sat, 9 AM to 9pm EST excluding holidays.

Thanks, Danny. Is connected to a Dell running windows 11 and I’ve had my computer guy download printers, even though Canon no longer supports the equipment.
