PIXMA PRO-200S profiles: Who's in Control - Printer or Software

RE: Pixma Pro-200S

I am still getting familiar with the printing process for this new printer. What I am discovering is that the Canon printer does NOT like Lightroom software telling the printer what to do. In other words, printer profiles do not seem to be working as well as when I let the printer decide. This is frustrating to me because I always thought printing could me a little more "nuanced" if I utilized the paper manufacturer's printer profiles. I think I am not understanding how to tell the printer who's in charge. What do you think?

Hello.

What operating system are you using? If macOS what printer driver version is showing?

Windows 11. I’ve downloaded latest profiles from Red River Paper for the paper I’m printing on. I need to do more experimentation as I bond with the printer. Thanks for your reply.

I am using a Pro-100, but I think the driver is the same.

I configure my printer this way:

In LrC I select the ICC profile I want, even if I am using Canon paper. I will post a separate view.
