PIXMA PRO-10S Low Ink Warning When Cartridge is Full

why oh why oh why do I get low ink warnings with relatively new , legitimate ( expensive) canon cartridges ?Try  overriding,  try turning off and on again ..... this results in different cartridges flashing red and original 'empty' OK.
