PIXMA PRO-10 does not recognize cartridges

I bought a used Pixma Pro 10 which came with original cartridges. 

Tried starting my first print and the printer said a few were done. I tried to unseat and re-seat the cartridges and ALL the red lights stop flashing. The printer then tells me none of the cartridges are recognized. 

I bought replacement cartridges and they have the same issue. 

Reconfirmed that the printer is on the latest available firmware. But I can't figure out what else to do here. Did I just buy a lemon?

Once logged in, click on your PIXMA PRO-10 and then click on the Product Support button. When that page loads, click on either the Phone Support button or the Chat Support button to access support. A Technical Support Representative can determine the cause of the issue and resolve it or provide you with your available service options.
