We have a Canon ipf830 for printing large format CAD drawings in our office. We only print these in monochrome on plain roll paper. We do not have any need for color ink. Since installing the printer 8 months ago, we've noticed our cyan, magenta, and yellow ink levels steadily decreasing. I have two questions:
1. Is there a way to disable color ink completely?
2. If #1 is not possible, is there a way to disable the ink monitor to continue printing without replacing the color cartridges?

Hello.
Adequate levels of ink are required to ensure that the nozzles remain lubricated and to keep them from drying out or overheating. You would not be able to disable certain ink tanks or the ink monitoring systems of our printers.
There are settings to reduce the amount of ink that is used for a print job. If you would like assistance with this, contact our support group using the "Contact Us" link below.
