I bit the bullet and purchased PRO-1100 about a week ago. Printed out two beautiful images on A3 luster paper and brought them for framing. Everything was great!
Today I wanted to print another image, same paper, same settings, same everything. I tried printing out twice with the same horrible result - the image looks terribly smudgy like a ton of ink has been dropped on the paper. I've done a nozzle check and everything looks normal but the Chroma Optimizer - two halves of the printed pattern come out wet and the paper is kind of deformed there because of the moisture. I've done a simple cleaning a couple of hours later for the 4 patterns that contain CO in the menu, but the result is the same. I am a bit baffled now on what the reason might be:
Is it print settings, even though I printed with the same settings and ICC profile a week ago with no problems?
Is something wrong with the Chroma Optimizer cartridge or the head?
I should disclose that I have done a software update this morning before printing which went perfectly fine, but I am starting to ponder if this might be the cause.

Thanks a lot for the quick replies folks!
It turns out my wife was super helpful and cleaned the printer over the weekend and turned the paper backwards after, so that mystery is solved! 🙂
This with the wet spot on CO is still a valid issue though and will contact support regarding it.

If it is Canon brand Luster paper what you are describing sometimes indicates paper was loaded backside out.
The Canon paper is actually a plastic material and does not absorb the ink; it just sits on the surface.

The wet nozzle check page indicates there could be an issue that will require Canon warranty support - I would contact them from the support page at https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/imageprograf-pro-1100. You will need to register your printer if you have not already done so.
