How to replace Pro-10 (#72 Ink Tank) with new model Pro-10 (s) (#73 Ink Tank) Work-Around?

My mother-in-law has bought a full set of Canon 73 ink tanks (for new canon pro-10s) from Japan instead of Canon 72's (Canon pro-10).

Tank fits perfectly and the chip looks identical, however, am getting the following message:

Support Code : 1684 The following ink tank cannot be recognized. "Photo Black ‎<PBK>‎" Printing cannot be executed because the ink tank may not be installed properly or may not be compatible with this printer. Install the appropriate ink tank.

Is there a work-around?

Cannot get set replaced.

From another forum:

'See if you can take a chip from the old (proper cart) and place it on the new (incorrect) cart. This is what we do when using pre-flushed carts from a source like Precision Colors. We transfer the authentic Canon chip for the Pro-100 to another cart. Might be worth a try with a single color. Good luck.'

Worked like a charm Printer is humming away now.

Use a jewellers slot type screw driver - gently remove chip from empty tank - slot into new tank
