What computer are you using. laptops are problematic when trying to match colors since you can change how the display looks simply by tilting the screen.
Monitors are also generally much too bright for good photo editing.
Set your monitor to about 50% brightness try to keep any outside light from shining on the monitor.
Open the test image in the article in your photo software and see how the colors look compared to how you know they should look. There are a number of items in the test print that have "memory colors". Everyone knows how a strawberry should look. No one can be exactly sure of what color Sally's dress was at the wedding.
