Canon Pixma Pro-100 Yellow is Wrong

tunglashr

When I try to print brown, it comes out purple. When I print the nozzle check maintenance page, the yellow portion of the page is instead light brown. I did just put in a new yellow cartridge (among others), so I dont want to replace it unless there is no other option.

Why are the colors off so much?

Welcome to the forum tunglashr.

Try unseating and reseating the cartridges. Verify that all the clear tape has been removed from top of cartridges.

Is this a new printer? Did it work OK before you installed the new yellow cartridge?

Are you using Canon inks?

Did you try a head cleaing?

I have already reseated all cartridges and remvoed all tape. The issue persisted. This is not a new printer, it had been working well before this.

I dont know the brand of the inks, I got them from Amazon.

How do I do head cleaning?

One the same maintenance page as the nozzle check.

I see cleaning, deep cleaning and print head alignment. Which of these is the one I need to do? Also, it says that it consumes ink, does that mean it uses all remaining ink, or just that it uses some?

You want to try Cleaning and then do a head alignment.

Uses some ink; won’t empty them.

If you still have the problem then give Canon a call at (800) 652-2666.

The cleaning seemed to have worked. Colors look a lot better now.

Thanks
