You can handle and work with Pixma Pro-100 prints soon as they come from your printer. They are "dry to the touch" but in reality it takes about 24 hours for an inkiest print to fully cure and dry.
You really can not judge them correctly until than. Wait at least an hour before any judgment is made, if time is critical.
You will benefit from well prepared files, which means proper exposure as well as some additional mid-tone contrast. This may be the most important point. These two factors being wrong will effect the print severely.
When you use the paper manufacturer profiles, turn off the Printer handle colors as this will result in the photo being color corrected twice. Mostly no good will come from it!
