"Canon My Printer" can't detect PIXMA MG3650 on new computer

Hi,

I have been setting up an Lenovo laptop running Win11 to connect to a Canon MG3650 printer/scanner.

All drivers have been downloaded along with utilities like "Canon My Printer".

The device will both Print and Scan over Wi-Fi and USB cable. I have checked the scanner using Microsoft Windows Scan software. This is new setup and the printer was previously connected to a Win10 desktop and all functions could be used via the "Canon My printer" application.

However, on the new system, although it will complete all tasks, running the Utility which the user has got used to, says "The supported printer cannot be detected" with both USB and Wi-Fi connected. It offers "Diagnose and Repair printer" but that just brings up the error message "The printer that supported by My Printer cannot be detected, make sure it is connected".

So I am confused to what the utility is looking for if the MG3650 prints and scans.

Any advice, much appreciated.

Graham.

Thanks Derrick, I'll give that a try.

Enjoy Easter, Graham.

Your Lenovo does have an ARM processor so unfortunately no Canon printer software is going to detect your printer.

Worth a try, but sadly no difference.

You can try this:

If using an ARM processor your printer as one of the mg series may be compatible with limited software capability. Installation instructions are here:

That made no difference either. At least it can be used with Windows Scan software.
