Hi,
I have been setting up an Lenovo laptop running Win11 to connect to a Canon MG3650 printer/scanner.
All drivers have been downloaded along with utilities like "Canon My Printer".
The device will both Print and Scan over Wi-Fi and USB cable. I have checked the scanner using Microsoft Windows Scan software. This is new setup and the printer was previously connected to a Win10 desktop and all functions could be used via the "Canon My printer" application.
However, on the new system, although it will complete all tasks, running the Utility which the user has got used to, says "The supported printer cannot be detected" with both USB and Wi-Fi connected. It offers "Diagnose and Repair printer" but that just brings up the error message "The printer that supported by My Printer cannot be detected, make sure it is connected".
So I am confused to what the utility is looking for if the MG3650 prints and scans.
Any advice, much appreciated.
Graham.

That made no difference either. At least it can be used with Windows Scan software.

You don't get the settings button that opens a panel with the pull down choose printer field?

Derrick,
Thanks for the feedback. There is a settings button, however it pops up the error message as the attached screenshot.
If I then continue with the Diagnose button, I get :
I've tried this with the USB cable.

What processor does your Lenovo use?

These Lenovo brands have an ARM processor which is not compatible with Canon drivers. A compatible Canon printer will use the Microsoft drivers but cannot use the Cannon software, if it installs the software will not detect the printer.

Thank you, I'll check.

The Lenovo is an ideaPad Slim 3 15Q8X10 with a snapdragon(R) X - X126100 processor.

Reboot your pc with the printer ON and connected by your USB /printer cable

Tried that and it made no difference.

The 3650 is not supported in the USA. I did find the latest Windows 11version of My Printer on a third county Canon site. You can download and reinstall it and check to see if it sees the printer:
