imageCLASS MF455dw MF Scan Utility Driver Not Installed

honoredu

Hello, I downloaded MF Scan Utility and installed. When I open MF Scan Utility, it said "A scanner driver supporting this software is not installed. Install it and try again."  I installed the piniter driver "Canon Generic Plus UFR II and it prints fine but the MF Scan Utility is not working property. Does anyone had same problem or solved this problem?

Greetings,

Are you running any 3rd party Anti-Virus besides what comes with windows? (Windows Security is included with the OS).

shadowsports_0-1716167606230.png

When you run the MF Scan Utility installer, it prompts you to allow it to make changes to the windows firewall.  Did you say "yes" and allow this. Once complete, the Scanner Selector runs in the system tray.  Its the icon on the left in the image above with the little blue arrow.  This is what it looks like when its opened.

This is the first driver that needs to be installed

[Windows 64bit] MF455dw MFDrivers (Generic Plus UFR II / Generic Plus PCL6 / Generic Plus PS3 / Generic FAX / ScanGear)

https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDEwMDAxMTIxNzAx&cmp=ABR&lang=EN

This is what it looks like.  You can't use any of the buttons however, until the scan utility (below) is installed.

shadowsports_3-1716169519764.png

This is the second driver:

[Windows 32bit & 64bit] MF Scan Utility Ver.1.21.0.2 - Its important the v1.21.0.2 is the version selected.

https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDIwMDAwNjg2NTAz&cmp=ABR&lang=EN

Your Deco Wi-Fi is nice little mesh system, fully capable of hosting the MF455Cdw.  Let's go ahead and take a look at it too.  Log into its admin portal and view the list of attached devices.  Note the IP it has assigned to your W11 computer, and note the IP its assigned to the printer.  You can verify the computer can communicate with the printer by entering its IP address into a web browser.  Its remote UI webserver should display.  (Example my printer uses 192.168.1.99)

You can also use the ping command from a command prompt to confirm communication.

Greetings,

I know exactly what this error is caused by and how it can be resolved.  I'd be happy to provide you with a link to the software that you need in order to fix it, but you'll need to tell us the model of your Canon printer and the operating system you're using it with.

Thank you 😀

Greetings,

For Windows 10/11, this should solve the problem.  Close the MF Scan Utility and run this download.  Then open the program and retest.  Please report your results:

I will report you tonight (Eastern Time) when I go home.

Thank you very much.

Thank you and sorry for late reply. I was very busy and had a hard time to set up printer utility and finally I got my printer but the MF Scan Utility isn't still working.

I deleted all printer Driver and Scan Utility then downloaded from Canon website for both.

MF Scan Utility is not still working and saying "A scanner driver supporting this sofware is not installed. Install it and try again."

DOES NOT WORK! I have 2 computers, one with Win-11 23H2 and one with Win-11 24H2. Using MF455dw, Canon software program for scanning will NOT work as of now, 11-10-2024c-with 24H2. Using Win-11 23H2 then Canon scanning software program works perfectly!

Greetings,

This post is marked solved and hasn't had activity for 6 months.  To receive assistance,  can you please start your own thread.  Thanks in advance.

I really appreciate your help. Finally solved the problem. I have a McAfee LiveSafe protection and turned off "Real-Time Scanning and Advanced Firewal.l" It worked after that I downloaded the above "two" links and run the both drivers. Thank you very much!!!
