I used to use my CanoScan LiDE 400 with my Windows PC and it came with the Utility program that included ScanGear. Now I'm using a Mac instead and I only have the option to download the Utility Lite program that does NOT include ScanGear at all, which means I cannot use any of the adjustment tools like descreen and grain correction that are imperative for me. What gives? Why can I not find any program anywhere that will allow me to use ScanGear on my Mac?

Same. I wonder why older LiDE models can use scangear on Macs but the newest one can't? What exactly is preventing Canon from making this possible?

The Mac Image Capture app seems an effective replacement. I do
not understand why Mac users are not instructed to use it in place
of IJ Scan Utility, which on a Mac has very limited functionality.
The instruction manual seems mostly irrelevant to Mac use.
