Updated PIXMA MX490 Driver for Latest macOS?

kcchica

When I download the driver for my MX490 printer, my Mac says the set up needs to be updated

"The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information."

Hi Kcchica!

The MX490 is a series of products. For the Community to provide you with the most accurate information, we'll need to know the exact model of your unit. For example, is it the MX492? It's usually on the front or top of the physical printer (not from your computer).

How do you connect to your printer (USB or WiFi)?

Any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue.

Isn't this the Pixma MX490? The drivers on the Support Page look to have been updated on Oct. 9, 2022 so hopefully that addresses the OP's issue.

I'm experiencing the same thing! I have Mac's Sonoma 14.1 and when I download the MX490 driver I get an error message that says, "The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information."

Will Cannon be updating the app version any time soon?

Is this the driver you are downloading?
