Ok, I know the printer works because I've got it working with wifi DIRECT to my pc but want it connected to my router.
The printer (and pc) cannot see the router (distance/walls too long/thick) so I've got a TP-LINK powerline pair to extend the wifi. IE
TS5050 <-wifi SSID fred-> TP-LINK powerline wifi <-powerline link to-> router (wifi SSID bill)
pc and TS5050 are in the same room and the PC can see the router and works IE
pc <-wifi SSID fred-> TP-LINK powerline wifi <powerline link to> router (wifi SSID bill)
When I setup the TS5050, I did a manual configure setting using the SSID of TP-LINK wifi and its password.
But when it came to printing from pc, the printer is nowhere to be seen/found.
I looked at the printer's IP address - looked valid- and cannot ping it from the pc.
My options :-
1. move printer so its close to the router and set it up to use the router's wifi; but it won't work when I moe it back to the orignal room
2. reconfigure TP-LINK powerplug wifi (current SSID fred) to SSID bill. IE same SSID as router. Not sure if that will cause lots of confusion?
