I cannot find the admin password for this printer. The university I work at will not allow a personal printer to be networked. It can be networked on the guest network, but then my computer cannot find it because we are on different networks. This means that I cannot go through the complete setup process so I don't know if I am missing something. I have tried to look on-line and have tried every combination suggested for other printers, but no matter what I try I am locked out. There are not a lot of things that this locks me out of, but as this is a brand new printer I do not want to be locked out of features in the future.

For WiFi networking to work, your printer and your computer must be on the same network. Most guest networks have "device isolation" turned on for security purposes. That prevents viruses and malware from spreading because no device on the guest network can see other devices.
In your situation, your best bet would be to connect to your printer directly using a USB cable. Follow the setup guide here: https://canon.us/TS6420asetup

Greetings,
Stephen's recommendation of using a dedicated USB connection is probably best for your situation since it doesn't sound like other network devices will need access to your printer.
The TS6420a also supports wireless direct. This allows a device to connect directly with the printer via wireless. A shared network is not required. It's common for people to use this with a mobile device and the Canon Print app. This offers additional versatility and convenience.
The default username and password for your printer's web server is usually "admin" and "password". admin and 7654321 or in some cases just the printers serial number.
If you have set and forgotten a custom password, you will need to contact Canon support for assistance with resetting it.
You can do this by registering the device in your MyCanon account. You will then see contact options for support.
