PIXMA TR8620a won't print from iPad Mini, prints OK from iPhone 14

I have a new TR8680a printer.  It prints fine from my iphone14.

however, it will not accept print jobs from my iPad Mini.  When I go to the print screen, it selects the correct printer, but when I push the print prompt in the top right hand corner, it just disappears.  The printer, iPhone and iPad are all on the same network.

i have checked all the troubleshooting but something must be wrong in the settings.

So that the Community can help you better, could you please double-check your printer's model number?  The model number should appear on the front of the printer at the lower right corner of the movable control panel.
