PIXMA TR8520 Wifi Problem. Unable to enter Wi-Fi password

FallenStar85

Hey, everyone. My PIXMA TR8520 will not give me the option to input my wifi password. I recently switched providers and this one doesn't have a WPS option, which is how I got around this problem previously.

When I go to connect to my wifi, I select my router name and then it immediately tries to connect. No option whatsoever to input a password. So, obviously, it fails to connect. If I try to connect to any other wifi in the area, it asks for a password. It's only mine it won't ask.

I've Googled, searched Canon website, everything. I cannot find a solution on how to get it to ask for password input. I tried to reset it to factory settings, brand new start, but when I reset all the settings through the printer screen, it doesn't do anything.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi FallenStar85,

Who is the manufacturer of your router and what model number is it?

I’m having this exact issue it asks for the password for other WiFi’s but not the one I need to connect to this is a new Wi-Fi so it’s never been connected before I’ve reset the printer 5 times I can’t seem to get the password box to pop up it won’t even connect to it via the app

I finally got tired of trying to figure it out and bought a cable that would connect my printer to my computer. Don't have to do anything but plug it into the computer then you should be able to print.

Late response, but I have a customer w the TR8520 that nearly drove me to quit IT(!) ... After thinking about it, though (and seeing Youtube videos acting like it is no problem to enter the wifi password), THERE MUST BE A FIRMWARE UPDATE.

Has anyone resolved this issue? I having the same problem!! I really don't want to attach a cord from my mac to the printer everytime I want to print...
I tried to reinstall the print driver, naturally, it can't find the printer because it is not connected to the wifi.
